Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.21.5 - 1.21.6, outdated):
Fullbright-1.0.0.zip  1-click install

Very simple clientside mod that allows you to see in the dark like you have night vision. Default key to toggle fullbright is "K", you can change this in the controls.
Additionally a config is generated to control the brightness. The mod will reset your brightness back to vanilla/defualt when you reload/quit!

Source is provided in the zip because it's so simple. Seriously all this mod does currently is just adjust the min brightness.

Why not just use the command ".clientconfig minbrightness 1"?

So you can get the same effect by running the command ".clientconfig minbrightness 1". But I wanted a way to toggle this and have it reset when I leave a world
or server. You can set a macro to do this ingame with the ingame macro editor, but it requires two seperate macros and also you gotta remember to actually disable it lol.
Additionally, in the future too I might add some stuff to deal with fog n such. Or similar to mods for MC have the ability to cycle through some preset brightness values.

Config

Config file is located in VintagestoryData\ModConfig and generates after loading at least one world.

All this mod does is change this one value in your settings temporarily. The default vanilla value is 0. Any value higher than 1 will make the game overly bright.
Because of this I reccomend setting a value between 0.5 and 1. A reload is currently required for the config to update, hint: crtl+f1 is a reload hotkey.

{
"EnabledMinBrightness": 1.0
}

Will check later if this is working in the latest version but I suspect it should still work fine.

Marshy This was indeed the reason I wanted to make it

As a man with severe low bright issues i wish you are blessed with the most holy goodness this mod is a gamechanger for those like me with severe eye disablities

This seems like a nice accessibility mod for visually impaired players, especially since you can set the default value.

This is awesome, now I don't have to wear the NV mask while doing admin stuff in creative!
Even better for folks not using BetterJonas, because the default night vision shader is rough.

Maltiez Heya, I agree but this mod doesn't actually add anything other than a keybind toggle for an already default setting currently. Plus releasing this publicly means servers can just blacklist it like block overlay if they so wish! And even without ingame settings a user can change their driver settings to get around how VS does lighting to achieve the same effect, folks used to do that with the game Rust constantly to the point it was impossible to do anything about.

Maltiez Anyone can just turn up their system gamma to see in the dark anyway and there's mods to blacklist these cheats on multiplayer servers so who cares?

Great mod for me.  I never bother with multiplayer anyway, and it's a great tweak for my dwarf character.  He's from a mod, but didn't come with a 'see-in-the-dark' ability.  ☹️  I set the brightness factor to just under that of daylight, and there's my Infravision, sort of.  👍

Client side only cheats sounds not great tbh
