Falling Trees
TIMBEEEEER
Check the commands section below to enable/disable certain features![]()
Regarding stick drops please read Q&A section![]()
2.0 Logs and leaves get placed on impact by default.

The bigger the tree the better the effect looks, try it out!
Domino effect:
A falling tree can make others stumble.
Red woods can and will fry your pc. Be careful![]()

And interact with structures:

Careful around your house!
A falling tree can interact with structures on its path made of the following materials:
- Glass - destroy
- Ceramic - stumble
- Cloth - destroy
- Brick - stumble
- Wood - stumble
- Leaves - destroy
- Plant - destroy
- Ice - destroy
- Snow - destroy
Falling trees do not affect:
- Soil,
- Stone,
- Sand,
- Gravel
Compatibility with:
For the full lumberjack experience
Configs:
ConfigLib support.
Commands:
/ftplace (true/false) - This is enabled by default and will make it so logs and leaves blocks are placed on impact, this also removes the vanilla logic that calculates the axe damage based on the tree weight. Set this to false if you want everything to get dropped on impact instead, this also reverts back the vanilla durability logic.
/ftplace leaves (true/false) - This is enabled by default and will make it so leaves blocks are placed on impact. If you want only logs to be placed, set the above command to true, and this one to false.
/ftdomino (true/false) - Enabled by default, if set to false falling trees do not interact with environment.
/ftfall forward|backwards|random - Decides the direction of the falling choped tree.
Q&A:
- Yes I can make the leaves fall with the logs, what I can't right now is make the falling entity leaves get the same tint as the current season, I'm working on that! ;) I worked on that ^^
- Regarding sticks - Vanilla sets a chance for the branchy leaves to drop sticks when chopping down a tree, not realistic with the whole tree falling down. Falling trees skips this. If set to drop it will on floor impact call the vanilla drop of everything in that tree, this means every branchy leaves in a tree will produce a stick. If set to place, it will fall and place the leaves and branchy leaves that you'll have to harvest manually. Both are more realistic than vanilla so I do not intend to change this behavior.
RoadMap:
Add a config to make log blocks placed when falling to the ground instead of dropping. (I'd need to remove axe durability mult for tree chop)
Make leaves fall with the trees.
Domino effect: If a falling log touches a tree log it triggers that tree to fall. (considering, performance impact needs to be taken in consideration)
Falling logs hurt entities.
The tree falls to random directions.

I want to suggest implementing a "tree log" system like how the stone quarry mod does with it's blocks of stone. I really love the added aesthetic of this mod and wish it also had a mechanic where actual logs fell to the ground, not the blocks XD
I sorta wish this behaviour was in, but also that all the placed blocks from it falling were then faster to harvest or such. Not much of a point otherwise I feel.
Hi, Idk if this is a bug or intended but it look like when we trigger a "domino effect" (look cool) it consume all our durability ? Because I had the BEST Axe, it was mid durability, I just cut down one tree (should never break my axe) but I triggered a BIG Domino Effect (my pc was frozen for few secondes lol) and then my axe broke... So my guess is... the durability is drained also when others trees fall by the domino effect, is this a bug or intended ? Because it doesn't make any sense, It shouldn't use the durability of my axe for trees that just fall because of domino but only drain the dura of the tree I chopped down lol
Ive got /tf domino set to false, yet the logs still delete other trees leaves and the grass on the ground when there is a log fall. Is this intended?
SaltyWater i think it would be a super cool idea to add tree wedges like we make a V notch cut on one side and hammer a wedge in on the other makin it fall in a cardinal direction
Magmabit16
check for configlib. it's probably set to true
the /ftplace false command reverts every time the world is loaded
great mod but the redwood trees dont drop any quarter logs, only the regular sized logs
Heya,
So I seem to have a bug or incompatibility happening, I can't seem to harvest seeds/sticks from certain trees, for example Oak. When I try to break the leaves/ or switch off leaves on ground, all I get are placeable leaves. No sticks or seeds.
I wondered if it could be an incompatibility with Wildcraft: trees and Shrubs(https://mods.vintagestory.at/show/mod/9909) or Primitive survival(https://mods.vintagestory.at/primitivesurvival)
Any help given much appreciated
After some quick testing, I've determined that florasphere seems to work, at least on my machine. Half-logs work a little differently - if the half-log has a full-size variant, it places the full-size variant when the tree is cut, whereas if there's only a half-log version, that drops directly on the ground - maybe not exactly how the mod's supposed to work, but frankly, I don't hate it.
Can i request so that the config file has little anotations in the .json itself that explain what each option does? That and also so that in game, using configlib, when you hover over an option it also explain what it does? just for convenience really. Thanks for the mod!
Hello, I really love this mod, it makes cutting down trees more fun, a bit more immersive, and not something I can just turn my brain off for since I might absolutely wreck my shit.
But is there a way to make it so the configs persist? I just opened up my world for the 2nd time after downloading this mod, and the /ftplace command has reset to true.
It'll be pretty annoying in the long term having to redo the command every time someone boot ups their game.
doesnt work with floral zones apparently
Is there a way to remove the increased mining time it takes to mine the bottom block of the tree? I'm playing with Immersive Mining and I dislike how many axes I have to go through to cut down trees. Like I have to use more then half an axe to cut down the tree, then another half to chop up the wood, though I am using a stone axe.
Oh and I just wanted to say your mods rock, and I'm always happy to discover new ones from you :D thank you for making these for the community
Ahh okay I thought you had your mod automated to work with any tree type
But yeah my idea was basically to change your felled trees to a new type of block that is NOT the usual "placed" variant, so it wouldnt impact Immersive chopping (or other mods that use placed logs) at all. The felled trees would be an entirely separate block type.
But it sounds like you have a similar idea of adding some kind of attribute to the felled tree logs, which should accomplish the same goal. Hopefully you figure out a simple solution :D and if not, I can live without JackRob's mod for now
ArmoredStone
Heey!
Not feasible :( I'd have to create one for every log variant, then one for every modded log and it's variants and so on
Also immersive chopping reads for placed variants only 👀 It would break compatibility with it too! I'd have to either ask the author for compatibility or inject code on it's mod myself.
And I don't make custom blocks yet! I like to tweak mechanics in general but haven't made a single custom item/block so far! I don't like json 😭
I have an idea that may work, i'll make fallingtrees check if my Log Tweak is loaded, if so I'll insert some kind of attribute on the log spawned on impact that do not let player harvest it by hand or something like that. I'll try to figure this out
SaltyWater Hey Salty :) I'm the annoying guy that brought up the question to JackRob initially. Is it possible to create a third variant of the log? so you have Grown, Placed, and "Felled"?
If you can change your fallen trees to a third version that requires chopping, that would fix JackRob's issue, and also keep mods like Immersive Chopping unbothered.
You can tell I don't make mods cuz I'm just spitballing here xD but I'm curious if that's feasible to do
JackRob
No probs! If they ever change that I'll make the trees place the correct variant 😆
I see. Makes sense now. Thanks for the response then. o7
JackRob
Thanks!! ^^
Sadly no, I specifically place the placed variant of the logs because grown logs have no "side placed" variant.
Like many of your mods, I am loving this and hope it stays in my mod list for as long as I play.
I use this with my Log Tweak and it makes the logs that get placed down after felling a tree harvestable by hand because they are the "placed" variant of logs. Would it be possible to make these logs the "grown" variant instead, perhaps through a config if not outright changed? I personally would be ok with having to harvest the log again with the axe, forgoing the immediate firewood benifit with Immersive Chopping. Besides for Immersive Chopping, I am curious if there's a technical reason to choose the placed variant over the grown variant for your felling behavior.
EDIT: Just realized it may have to do with the "item" version of the log like when the "placed" config is set to false. So you may be converting that to block form when "placed" config is set to true, or something to that effect. I can see my suggestion falling flat if your felling behavior can't reliably provide the placed log instead of the grown log in case the log can't place itself in the world. Would be rightly inconvenient if the player got a hold of a grown log in their inventory.
I thought there was a tree failling sound? Maybe I was dreaming it, but after adding then deleting the Forrest Symphony mod I get no sound at all chopping down a tree. Am I imagining things or was there never a sound associated with the tree falling event?
ManChrzan
Fixed on 0.4.7
I'm was using this mod together with Immersive Mining and some really weird stuff happened when I tried to cut down a fruit tree. It was falling down then disappeared and dropped broken items described as "fruittree-cutting-unknown".
I actually find shears even more important for clean-up after logging, because of tree foliage dropping to the ground instead of disappearing. With flint axes, I was just about breaking an axe with every decent size tree, and at least half that durability was on cleaning up foliage, so it wouldn't clog up the environment around my home.
ividyon
Thanks for the report! Bug fixed!
Regarding the stick yeld, I explain better in the Q&A section, but shears still have a incentive to use for drop mode, if you want to save axe durability. or want sticks but don't want to chop a whole tree for it idk 😆
Genuinely adore this mod!
Got a bug report, however:
Trees toppled over by the initial tree do not inherit the mod settings. eg. if you set trees to drop their items immediately, other trees hit by the tree will still fall as blocks.
Also, the yield of sticks, seeds, moss seems rather high compared to vanilla, which makes it pointless to use tools like shears.
Is it possible to have trees fall when burned too and also have the falling logs retain the burning state?
I really love this mod. It feels like falling something old and magnificent- one huge tree fell in such a way that I could hollow out the core of it and make it a starter base which was pretty cool. I love that it makes 'natural bushes' around the base too haha
I've heard that this mod isn't compatible with "OneStick", but I'm wondering if anyone knows about "StickEmUp"
(They're relativly identical, but StickEmUp is updated for the current version.)
Not my native language but I'll do my best to explain.
When you chop down a tree the individual logs usually fall in a straight line on the ground. Currently you need to harvest each log individually. What I'm proposing is a change where you'd only have to harvest every other log of the felled tree, as if you're just chopping the tree trunk in to more manageable pieces. Hopefully I made it a bit clearer.
DocJohnson609
A log not connected to another log? Can you give an example?
First of all, I really love the mod! I'm really enjoying the slow burn type of gamestyle I've been able to tailor thanks to many of your mods.
Just some food for thought: how easy would it be to implement a log harvesting system similar to intact stone harvesting? As in if a log block is not connected to another log block it'd be automatically harvested? It's not a big change but I feel like it'd slightly reduce the tedium of wood harvesting while also being a bit more immersive.
Yaay update :D
SaltyWater Perfect! I also was able to replicate the same issue with just Config Lib and Falling Trees.
Rage4556
I've run some tests here myself, but got nothing.
Even trying to desync config lib and commands doesn't work. Commands are authoritative so if changed mid game they'll rule over configs.
You get this even in SP I'd say yeah, it's probably a mod incompatibility somehow, although your modpack doesn't give me any red warnings.
Try testing with only falling trees + config lib. So we can confirm it is a mod incompatibility!
EDIT: Didn't saw your edit, going to run a few more tests!
EDIT2: Yep, now I can replicate the issue! I'll fix that!😆
SaltyWater Hmm, right, well I just tested again and made sure there was only one version installed. I remade the config as well and also tested on SP, but the issue persists. I wonder if maybe it's a mod conflict? I listed the mods I have installed below.
EDIT: I found out that if I chop the tree down in creative, the drops don't happen at all and the tree falls normally.
Also, yeah I can't live without Immersive Mining now! The off-sync chopping and animation from the vanilla game really irked me. It didn't feel hefty enough!

Nicee! Hit me up if you find anything!
Also saw that you're using immersive mining, very nice 👉😎👉
SaltyWater Could be! I will dig around some more and look on both my server and client side for multiple versions of the mod. I'll rewrite the configs as well on the server so they sync with my client install.
Rage4556
It doesn't happen on my end.
If I was to guess, I'd say you have two versions of the mod installed. Or maybe you have config lib and somehow commands and configs are not synced, so one think it needs to place logs, other thinks it needs to drop it.
Hey Salty, after the recent update, 0.4.5., I've started encountering trees dropping more than just two logs now. I just chopped down an oak tree and discovered that it basically dropped all of the logs, but also simulated and placed them as well. Here's a video showing it.
Hey Salty, not sure where best to share ideas with you, but earlier I was thinking a manual polishing mod would be good. like you have the hammer and chisel in your hands, and your right click and then your stone turns to polished stone after a short animation. yes, you'd have to break it every time to pick it up again and yes it would take god awful more time, but hey, some people dont mind the immersion grind. Amirite? You can just punch it if you're low on tools. Anything to take those crafting recipes out with some immersion! cheers.
afterthought: technically, you could put it where you want the polished stone first and then do the thing and then you wouldn't have to pick it back up.

Yes it's intentional! That's why cloth material (found in those huts) are also affected!
Do you have any plans to migrate the images on your mods to a different hosting service? Imgur is now blocked in the United Kingdom.
Be advised that falling tree can damage merchant's hut.

I do run configlib, and I think autocongiflib might have made it's way into the modpack. Which might explain where this config file from the mod came from. Strangely, I set it to false in the config and with the chat settings, and restarting the server overwrote those settings this time.
My point still stands that having these settings, namely Domino, on by default Is certainly handing server owners the metaphorical bomb and handing them the manual to disarm it after the fact.
Coda_Vanistok
This mod generates no configs, my bad. I had another mod in mind at the moment!
But if you reastarted the server, yeah that could be the cause! All flags where set to defaults again. Or if you use configlib, it could also had reset all to default when updating for the version that supports it! :p
SaltyWater
Sadly, no I never removed the configs. I do see a config file has shown up, and made sure it was configured with place, leaf place, and domino were set to false, as well as tree fall set to forward.
After a recent restart without changing the mod, it's suddenly reverted to true on all of those settings. I have to revert my server again and remove the mod for now. Which really sucks, because other than the occasional deforestation into horizontal blocks that no one can otherwise clean up manually, the mod's been appreciated.
If the more specific mods like place and domino are set to be true by default, I'd only suggest changing that to false out of the gate to prevent the chaos even if user error results in the config resetting itself. I dunno if this was my fault, another mod's fault, or what, but reverting 8 hours on a small server with daily backups still sucks for those involved.
Awesome mod! Just a warning for anyone who uses the mod https://mods.vintagestory.at/onestick: it makes this mod stop working completetly.
But mod works anyway, dunno why it throws an error.
Have an issue where cutting down trees that grow at like slanted angle cause the game to crash when cutting any part of them
Coda_Vanistok
Did you removed the configs when updating?
the mod Isn't supposed to overwrite current configs
A word of warning to server hosts:
Updating the mod serverside reverts the settings. A lot of damage and almost irrepairable destruction (as well as a server crash) has come from this discovery. All I can say is thank the stars for server backups.
Please add a server side config or something that preserves the config state between updates to the mod, if you'd be so kind, Salty.
Hydromancerx, for me it does not work for Floral Zones. At least behaviour is different (all the logs are dropped at the same time, you dont have to cut them again)
Will this work on modded trees from Wildcraft and Floral Zones?
I have an issue where its causing double the logs to drop.
Hi Salty, great mod as usual, very immersive. Would you happen to know if it's compatible with Under Tangled Boughs?
heh I'm using the setting where the logs auto break after they fall too, I don't think I'm even getting exp for that first log either lol
Epic Mod
FatRefrigerator +1
You only recieve xp when cutting down a tree, one log per tree , not when cutting the fallen logs.
I can confirm Skaface443's bug report.
There seems to be a bug in the latest version.
When you chop down a tree the logs get placed on the ground. When chopping them again, the falling animation starts again and the log replaces the ground its lying on with, well a log.
Chopped down a tree in my base, now the Logs have replaced some of my stone paths.
Screenshot: https://ibb.co/wNwfBq8N
Edit: Also just noticed some random ass holes just showing up without wood or leaves. https://ibb.co/B5W8bk1L
Cant attach screenshots to comments, they just dont get posted no matter how often i click :) no errors or anything, thats why I had to upload on a 3rd party website
Edit2: When chopping fruit trees you now get firewood instead of the fruittree type wood. So you cant plant your own fruittrees atm with this mod.
Due to this, gonna uninstall the mod for now and waiting till this gets fixed.
Love this mod! There does seem to be something off with the `ftplace leaves false` command though, after I ran it and chopped down an oak tree, every single leaf block apparently became a branchy block and I got almost 3 stacks of sticks out of it, the ground was littered with them.
Might be interesting to make it a % configurable so let's say half of leaf blocks stay solid but the rest deconstruct due to impact. Default leaf block preservation makes it a bit of a mess to clean up every time, but a compromise migh be interesting.
Is this compatible with xSkills? I'm not receiving Forestry XP when felling trees anymore.
Maybe tree replaced as temporary entity (ENTity ;) with model copied from this tree, thus can be freely rotated, when felt, converted back to blocks.
Wahazar
It is probably possible would require a full rewrite and I have no idea how to implement something like that :p
Is it possible to make logs falling together, sturdy as a real tree tree trunk (instead falling separately and eventually creating blocks again)?
For example, if there is narrow ravine, it would be very convenient when cut tree create kind of the bridge over this ravine. Such chopped trunk may be later chopped by axe like vanilla one (or by saw to remove single block).
Koala I figured it was a mod. Damn, cheers man! Thank you.
wellenbrecher "Uneven large tan bricks (running bond)" It's made of tan bricks, you get tan bricks by firing red clay bricks in a beehive kiln with no hatch open. Then you combine it with mortar and use a chisel to make it 'uneven'
Hey Salty,
how does tool speed modfier affect this? :)
the Tree Hollows from Primitive Survival just turn to normal logs
would be nice if one could keep these 'on the fly backpacks'
can you adda min size for the logs to get left. seems weird to cut down a 2 block tree and its blocks get put on ground/
Love the mod, but I just noticed something I can't figure out and I can't get voer it, lol.
Does anyone know what material the wall is made out of that is used to showcase the falling mechanic in the gif above? :)
Just tested, you can still get the fruit tree stems if you hit the branches out to in, then top to bottom. Just like in basegame
Edit: actually it only gives you fruit tree stems if you hit the horizontal branches, unlike basegame where you can get it from the whole tree if you go top to bottom
is there any way i can go into the config to make the domino only break walls and stuff and not other trees, it feels extremely overpowered to cut down one tree and get multiple stacks of wood because all the trees fall into eachother in a crowded forest
Very cool mod! One thing I'll mention is fruit trees - whenever i go to get a trimming the entire tree breaks and i just end up getting firewood from it? The only mods I have are yours and some of the basics.
Cutting fruit trees down makes all the leaves blue then makes all the logs turn into firewood, so we can't get any cuttings... works perfectly fine with every other tree though
Is there any way to turn it on without turning on the soil falling?
SaltyWater Another must-have mod. You're on a roll Salty. Absolutely loving the immersion mods you are churning out. Many thanks!
The_Revisionist This is standard behaviour, cut a branch instead of the tree itself for a fruit tree cutting
The changelog of 0.3.0 says:
"Removed aged logs fall back. now if the code can't find the appropriate block it will simply drop it."
When I cut down a fruit tree it drops firewood now, instead of the blocks that make up the fruit tree.
Sonito
Very nice idea! and immersive too! I'll definitely be using this one! 😯
Thank you very much , I'm trying to make the backpacks accessible while on ground storage i'll look in all backpack classes :D
Sonito
Hey! Welcome to VS modding! ^^
To be honest my main source of material is the game itself. Almost every single one of my mods comes from something already in the game. For example, Falling Trees is just a modified version of the cave-in falling entity system combined with the code axes use to find and chop down whole trees.
I highly recommend starting with an idea and then digging through the game source code to find something similar then from there build on it. It’s a lot of fun! The API is amazingly powerfull and modular! With it the game can really bend to your will.
If you need any help starting, hit me up or another mod on discord VS official server! The community is amazing!
Great Stuff ! Salty if you wouldn't mind i'm trying to learn how to mod as well , more precisly the code mode , i've been using DnSPy a bit to snoop in the game's code and I was wandering if you have any material that helped you improve in modding this game? I'll take anything !
Great mod as usual from Salty.
Do yourselves a favor and use this mod alongside the R.TrullyWoods mod (https://mods.vintagestory.at/rtw) which increases the yield of firewood and boards from one log. Don't use the mod's default values because they're WAY too high, adjust the values to one log = 10 firewood or something. The two mods together makes felling trees way more meaningful and means you don't have to destroy entire forests to create charcoal. Chopping a tree down and having to chop each individual log is very satisfying if you get a decent yield from it.
Is there any possibility of making it compatible with classes that add traits which increase wood drop, such as the mod All Classes that has the class Lumberback with the trait
woodDropRate: 0.1? It only works on the first tree trunk since it drops directly from the tree, but for all the other logs that remain on the ground the trait doesn’t activate (I assume because they’re considered as placed blocks). If possible can you turn the Commands into a Config file. I don't like playing with logs or leaf placement on, so I always have to type the command in each time I create a new world.
Another huge Salty W! I just wanted to suggest an addition to the idea originally suggested by Moldavite. It would be really cool to see the tree fall in the direction of the most damaged block face. I don't know if VS has this kind of flexibility yet, but having the tree fall where the block has received the most hits by an axe would fall in line with more realistic, grounded handlogging practices. Typically, with chainsaws at least, the direction a tree would fall would be caused by more material being removed from a specific side of the trunk. I.e. If you wanted a tree to fall North, then you'd cut more on the North side of the tree. This would lengthen tree-cutting time as the player would have to go to a different side of the tree to avoid getting crushed, but it would only add a couple of seconds at most.
Edit. Two minutes later, I just realized this is already a "feature", and all you need to do is face in the direction you want the tree to fall with the last few cuts. I don't think half the time xD. Amazing mod!
Seconding that way too many sticks are being dropped from trees
SaltyWater it's less placebo and more your mod is making every stick drop from trees. Disabling the mod makes sticks drop back to vanilla values, just a few, rather than a few dozen.
Not a bad thing if that's the intention, but nowhere here does it mention that's a feature. I just wanted a felling animation, so I used both commands to turn off placement of logs or leaves. I haven't tested if maybe compatibility with IDG is messing with drop rates, but I have no issue with IDG on its own.
Thank you for this awesome mod! A feature I would consider adding is allowing for customizion of the direction of the tree's falling to be towards or to the right of the player for some added challenge!
Sianks Yeah heard people mention that, haven't cut down any bamboo myself yet though. But as for the extra logs, it happens for every tree, tested it quite a bit. It's not a big deal with the normal trees really, as it only drops 1 log too much from what I can tell. The bottom one always falls through the ground, then 2 logs pop out of the ground
0 Опыта лесоруба в Xskill. Много палок. Но мод просто класс.
Yeah... so I cut down a part of a cherry tree and couldn't pick that up for grafting... the thing "slid" off the main cherry tree into the ground and became an "Aged Log", sounds iffy?
LongusDongus03 I need to agree, maybe not with all trees but with some you get extra logs, i cant say what trees except Bamboo, you get Aged Logs varied from 2-5 PLUS Bamboo itself
Cool that u can do it with ChiselQP's but i meant it as a new logic, where you can place stuff in places that are free, a new logic that detects blocks and free space.
When I cut down a fruit tree the it places aged logs on the ground. Also the leaves turn blue whilst they're falling.
Would it be possible to disable the falling mechanic for fruit trees?
SaltyWater the stick thing might be placebo, but it does drop more logs than it should. The bottom log always drops two for some reason
Call the police! Salty is out of control again!!! He can't keep getting away with releasing so many great mods!
Sianks You can do your challenge with the help of another mod, although it isn't exactly what you're looking for. The mod is QP's Chisel Tools, and within that mod are the "decorative blocks" that allows you to replace it with a chiseled block, one of those are the Decorative Shelf and Decorative Display Case. With either Decorative block and a chiseled plank to look like a slab, you will get something with what you wanted.
Here's a sample: https://imgur.com/a/5BWaeNB
SaltyWater I got CHALLANGE for you, do you accept it? Do you think you can do it?
There's one thing which nobody got right yet, one mechanic that's missing and nobody knows the way to solve it...
its: Detecting if there's free space and allowing items to be placed with the right height.
Example: you place Slab above floor, technically there's little space under the slab but you cant place Bowl or cooking pot there as the game tells you "Sorry but no space there, block in the way"
Little illustration to show what I mean, imagine block below is Full Block, and block above is Slab placed on top not bottom, creating this little space:
_____
|____|
_____ <-- Here you "could" place bowls, cooking pots, jars etc
| |
Do you think you can take on this challange and be showered with Glory?
(it's one of the immersive things we lack i believe, but idk, you know better)
Sianks
Yep, it's placebo
I think people dont realise how many sticks you could actually get from trees when you destroy all the leafts before cutting it down, with this mod leafs are coming down for you and you can experience it.
when i cut down tree i look at its branches and it doesnt have many sticks, when i cut it down the leafs stay the same without changing, so idk why people get this problem
I'm running into a similar issue, loot of sticks dropping all of a sudden. Not all bad, but would be nice to tone it down a bit since felling 3 trees gave me more sticks than I've had at one time so far haha
Really? When normally felling trees i get like 10 sticks, I'm getting multiple stacks from them now
SaltyWater tried to cut a fruit tree trunk to drop all the branches, and all that dropped was 2 aged logs. tried just a branch on a nearby fruit tree and it worked as normal.
FatRefrigerator
It doesn't do that :p
Not sure if intended or not, but it looks like it converts every leaf block into branchy leaves so you get tons of sticks. Not complaining! Nice to not have to farm them, but just letting you know.
Ok SaltyWater its Aged Log 😂
Sianks
Ancient logs? What is this block? 😂
I'll check the bamboo thing! Thanks for reporting!
NotQuiteNil
They work seamlessly, all my testings for falling trees was with immersive mining, the youtube video shows the compatibility! ^^
Looking at that latest changelog, how does this interact with the tree-cutting formula changes from your Immersive Mining mod? Will they interact seamlessly, or would one or the other's tree-felling changes need disabled? Dying to know, since these are bost basically must-haves at this point.
Salty, it appears that Bamboo is Dropping Bamboo as before you made update with falling logs, BUT on top of that it's dropping Ancient Logs in place where Bamboo should technically fall.
Im using BetterRuins and i was cutting many bamboos from one of the ruins i found, idk if thats affecting it or not, but you get Bamboo and Ancient Log for free
Also I dont think it drops enough bamboo, I cut down one with 4 blocks of bamboo and it gave me 2 bamboo + 3 ancient Logs
Whaaat? By nature of the fact that Salty's mods are actually good and not littered with microtransactions nor laziness, I would say they have ascended beyond Bethesda, EA, or Microsoft!
Salty, I bet you worked in Bethesda, EA, Microsoft or something, cause the way u come up with stuff and speed, also updates is actually shocking.
I honestly love these kinds of mods so much. Awesome work!
Salty is the reason I check the mods website everyday. Thanks for the hardwork!
Now, anyone know how hard it would be to have this mod but add the "TIIIIIIIMBBBBEERRRRRRRRR" sound effect from Eco when a tree falls (every now and then)? :P
Salty, how do you come up with all this genius? Just saying.
is this compatible with mods that add new types of trees, like wildcraft?
does this work with Xskills for the skills that make trees drop more logs?
SaltyWater saw you mention it uses cave-in code, does it deal damage like being caught under a cave in?
Was just wishing for something like this last night while logging for firewood... You're a damn wizard. Salty out here with the sauce yet again.
I knew it was only a matter of time, now when do they fall over in the wind storms and squish people? Gotta have that danger parody with Cave Symphony ;3
Goated modder with another goated mod. Thanks man love this!
Salty the dam GOAT
Michaloid
Thanks Michaloid! And thanks for taking care of the community out there!
Sianks
Thanks Sianks! Yep, this uses a already existing code, cave ins fallingblockentities! Super vanilla friendly ^^
SiiMeR
Thanks! I'll try to keep it up! ^^
Gonna yoink this mod up for more immersive goodness. Thank you so much for making so many bangers.
I expected a model of tree falling till hitting ground then chopping wood like Immersive Wood Chopping, but the way you did it is better, easier and more game friendly, so it wont bug at all
You really are cooking day by day. Keep up the good work!
