when i try chiseling my window it becomes bugged
https://prnt.sc/Zaorb8YFC9Uf
the window on the right is when i try to use the fine chisel, and the window on the left is with regular chisel
the blocks below the glass turn invisible https://prnt.sc/NJ7Gd76ZGAad https://prnt.sc/8jZRok179cOj
also would it be possible to make the door tool, from the qp chisel mod work with this mod?
Added Fine Paint Tool with color palette, custom colored materials, tinting, tint strength control, color picking, painting, and paint erase.
Added new shape for the Fine Chisel.
Added survival recipe for the Fine Chisel.
Added multi-material support inside Chisel32 blocks.
Added correct material sounds, so glass sounds like glass, stone like stone, etc.
Improved material texture rendering, grass/soil colors, tint rendering, and paint texture quality.
Added durability loss for tools in survival.
Increased Chisel32 tool durability by 2.5x.
Fixed invisible empty blocks after removing the last layer with ChiselTools.
I just got a ctd while opening the handbook section for the advanced chisel. Creative mode - survival world. I have no idea how to read these, I'm sorry 😆
This crash does not seem to come from Chisel32 directly. The log points to a broken/errored recipe from Tear It Apart:
System.InvalidOperationException: Missing or errored output result for recipe 'tearitapart:recipes/grid/armor.json'
It looks like the handbook/recipe explorer tried to build recipe info while opening the Advanced Fine Chisel page and crashed on that unrelated recipe.
Update to the latest version first and if it still happens after updating, try disabling Tear It Apart / Better Handbook temporarily to confirm the conflict.
Thanks for the explaination and advice, I'll report back with results <3
* edit; I updated the mod and disabled Tear It Apart and there was no crash :)
I am SO happy this is now a thing, thank you so much!!! Do you plan on making it more compatible with QP's chisel tools? I've found that as soon as its altered by the fine chisel it gives the block a different 'state'(?), and when trying to further mess with it the whole block gets turned into the solid 'fine chiseled block' from the mods creative tab, undoing all the chiseling
Thanks! QP Chisel Tools compatibility has already been added in the latest version.
QP tools or the vanilla chisel should no longer turn Chisel32 blocks back into a solid fine-chiseled block or wipe the shape.
True Chisel, Hand Planer, Hand Wedge, Paint Brush, Palette, Paint Scraper, and several Pantograph actions now route safely into Chisel32’s.
Some functional conversions are blocked to prevent data loss. Please note that some QP tools are not supported yet and may not work for now.
I’m also not fully sure if support for every tool or action can be added in the future. Some functions may still not work, or may behave a little differently than they do with normal chiseled blocks.
Thanks for the detail, I was using the multichisel-thing (iv'e recently come back to VS after a long break, and it's new to me) so I wasn't 100% sure whether it was my fault, or if I could blame it on my tools, as I was a little pixel-happy at the time. If I manage to pull myself together I hope to help with testing (breaking) stuff, and possibly actually being a useful tester! <3
Breaking stuff is exactly what good testing is. If you notice anything weird again, feel free to send screenshots, steps to reproduce it, or whatever details you have.
That already helps a lot. Thanks!
I've been waiting for this FOR-EVER! Thanks much! Will be impatiently waiting for this in survival.
I’m really glad to hear that.
Survival support is definitely planned, but I want to make sure the core system is stable first.
I’d rather release it a bit slower than risk players losing their work. I’ll keep improving it step by step.
Ah, we can finally chisel bricks along their textured mortar!
Yep, that’s one of the things I’m really excited about too. Just please chisel responsibly, for the sake of your FPS lol
NEVER! You can't stop us! What if we only want 5fps? *laughs maniacally while adding tiny pixels to my already eldritchly detailed lampost*
hehe
For sure. I'm actually pretty conservative with chiseling, but given greedy meshing it should be fine to use 32x alignment for the same level of detail... I think.
