This mod allows visualizing nearby chunks in 3D isometric style. Inspired by various "minecraft chunk renders". Works client-side.

How to use:

 

type this command in chat (including the dot):

.chunkviz

It opens up the worldmap with overlaid chunk grid. Click anywhere on the loaded chunk and wait for it to load.

Once loaded, you will be able to see it's structure and the number of particular blocks. You can use sliders to slice the chunk on X, Y axis.

 

Additional information

 

Mod was tested on macbook m1 and steamdeck. It might scan the chunks a bit slower on older hardware, even potentially freeze for a couple of seconds because of how much data it downloads at once. 

Any modded blocks were not tested, can't guarantee they are scannable.

Planned updates in the future

 

  1. add cursor label
  2. save/export the chunk as png file
  3. ???

Thanks for tagging is as cheat and client side, helps me find potential mods that players can misuse for cheating for my server!

Dexapnow it can be easily avoided anyway. You want an anti-xray mod, not just a chase after mod blacklist

Dexapnow Please contact your server admin to blacklist this mod or change to mod whitelist. I don't want to artificially neuter my mod because of the way it's used in multiplayer mode.

Would you mind making it required both on server and client to prevent anyone from using it as a cheat alterative if x-ray is blacklisted?

KnewOne to be fair, it's somewhat similar to traditional xray (hence the "cheat" tag), but the intended use case is different. If I was looking for some particular ore I would just turn on the xray instead lol. This mod is more of a technical analysis tool. Inspecting your whole chunk to see if there's any massive cave or lava lake underneath your house is valuable in some cases if for example you were planning to expand and dig down. It's more about planning and curiosity rather than just looting.
