Latest release (for Vintage Story 1.22.0-pre.1 - 1.22.6, potentially outdated):
calendarhandbook_1.1.0.zip  1-click install

Open the Calendar with 'L', rebind in controls.

Adds a Calendar UI page which presents each day of the year separated by months and seasons as well as a 'progress bar' for year progression.

Intended to keep track of how many hours left to prepare for winter and how long it will last.

The Seasons are inverted in the southern hemisphere.

In order from top left to bottom right, the elements are:

 - Day, Month, Year, Time widget

 - Total days since world creation

 - Year progress bar broken into seasons

 - Days until winter

 - Real time until winter

 - Conventional Calendar

Compatible with Solar Years - Vintage Story Mod DB

Works with calendar theme mods, the theme used in some screenshots is:

Been testing other calendar mods and sadly all are pretty broken. Makes me really wish this one had support for a phsyical block you needed to click on in order to access the calendar. Would be super nice for hardcore worlds.

i have been waiting for this mod for years

its destiny

Puffer8, Aug 17th at 3:22 PM

I know the game starts in may but seeing the calendar begin with may as the first month is just so wrong...

Would you mind detailing the changes in each update. All the changelogs are empty, so no one knows what changed.

Does the calendar take into account the player's location in the world? Well, like if the player is in hot regions without winters or vice versa in regions with eternal winter?

The calendar is only affected by hemisphere. It flips the seasons when in the southern hemisphere. I've added a screenshot to demo this.
The calendar does not take into account temperature in any way, so if it's hot in 'winter' it still shows winter on the calendar.

It would be really helpful if it could show the in game "winter"- not sure if you could do that as a setting but that's mainly what I would want a countdown for. I want to be prepared for an in game winter, not just the month december. Very nice looking though and I really like the day counter that's really useful!!

Would it be at all possible to add compatability with Solar Years? As far as I can tell, it still works in 1.22.6. Its just that when I'm using it with this, it sort of freaks out a little bit particularly during the 31st of any given month.

I've release 1.1.0 with support for Solar Years. I've only tested it with the default gregorian calendar configuration. Let me know how you get on with your configuration, if you find any issues please describe how you've configured yours.

About the AI disclosure, was this properly revised and tested or is it completely vibe coded? Is it safe to install/uninstall mid save? Additionaly, would it be compatible with hanbook altering mods such as BetterHandbook?
I'm not against properly used AI assistance but don't want a mod to break my save either, hence why these questions. Interesting mod idea regardless.

I've been using it in my world for 1 year without issues, but if you encounter any please provide some feedback.
You can install/uninstall without issue, it adds a UI panel with no 'world' altering side affects.
The mods registers 1 hotkey and 1 GUI.

It's not actually part of the handbook, it registers a new unrelated UI so will not be compatible with any handbook mods.

I've included the disclosure as some users do not want to play with mods that include AI contributions.

Hey quick clarifying question. "It's not actually part of the handbook, it registers a new unrelated UI so will not be compatible with any handbook mods."
The context implies to me that this mod doesnt touch the handbook so it IS compatible with any handbook mods? Im guessing either a typo or im misunderstanding.
Just want to clarify if this mod is compatible with mods like better handbook?

When used on server it does not prompt clients to download it :c
but it works normally

I've pushed 1.0.1 to fix the issue.
1.0.1 changes the sided-ness to Universal instead of client and marks requiredOnServer to false.

Rythillian, Aug 15th at 4:56 AM

This would be cool as a physical calendar block

Sadly the mod has some big issues and it seems the creator is MIA
