Tired of hunting down enemy pixels while they fly around?
This mod helps with that, though you still need to at least see the enemy to land a hit.
I created this mod for myself and my friends so we could play comfortably without feeling like we were playing an FPS.
Now you can too!
Description
Hits are now registered within a cone-shaped area in front of you.
Priority is given to the enemy closest to the crosshair within that area.
By default, the detection angle is 45 degrees from your crosshair.
If the crosshair turns red, it means you can hit the target.
The character also turns toward the target of the attack.
By default it's ON
How to change
To change the angle, simply type the command ".betterattack #" into the chat. Replace "#" with any value from 0 to 45 degrees.
If you enter the command without a number, the current angle will be displayed.
"0" means playing as if the mod were disabled, while "45" covers practically the entire visible area, so there is no point in going any wider. It's just a slight aiming assist.
The specified angle will be saved only for the current world.
To turn off/onn rotation, enter ".barotate #" and replace "#" with 0 or 1.
0 – OFF, 1 – ON.
If you enter it without a number, the current state will be displayed.
As with the angle, the value is preserved only for current world.
Please note that targeting does not apply to tamed animals, animals of the first generation or higher, or players.
If you discover any issues or bugs, please let me know

Can you please consider excepting any animal with generation 1 or higher?
I'm trying to remove troughs and fences and I keep smacking the boars, lol.
If fence is closer than boar, and you looking at the fence it should work correctly
But I'll give it a try.
I don't think it will be difficult.
It should work the way you suggest now.
You are awesome.Thank you!
This will also be a huge help when attempting to cull 40 males out of a herd of 200, lol.
Yeah, you're right
I didn't think about that, thanks

dk how it was there.
This mod is good, but without any animation changes, the hits make no sense. A swipe attack would do great.
Idk, it's just better hit detection than pixel-perfect one in the vanilla, it seems.
But muh immersion... ;(
Well, this mod doesn't have the "Immersive" tag, so...
If you decide to install any attack animation mod, they’ll work together without any issues. I just want to help those who’ve run into the same annoyance I did.
Besides, I’ve never done animation before, so I have no intention of producing low-quality work.
Oh, no worries. I wasn't expecting anyway, i just find it funny how you can not visually hit the target, but you do anyway.
Maybe you'll like it now, after the latest update. ;)
:O Wow, i didn't expect this. It looks super good now! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the idea
MICHEL!!!
DUCA!
Those shiver hotboxes. I have a grudge against those. Does it work with arrows too? I imagine the cone only works for melee swings
Yeah, the cone is only for melee attack, but for every melee attack based on the range of the item held in hand.
