LICHEN: ANTLER TOOLS

A simple, vanilla-like mod that adds antler varients of various tools.
Antler tools generally have a higher durability but lower effectiveness than flint, reflecting real life.

For 1.22.x

▸ Features

New Crafting Material: Antler Tines

  • Create antler tines by chopping antlers into pieces with an axe in the crafting grid
    • Antlers give tines in proportional equivelant to the amount of bonemeal they produce
  • Knap the tines into arrowheads or spearheads
    • (Note: you need a rock to knap the tine! Tines cannot be used as a knapping hammer)
  • Use a knife in the crafting grid to carve a tine into an Antler Flute
  • Use an antler tine to craft knives with antler handles, similar to bone-handled knives.

Carve tools directly from Antlers

  • Certain toolheads are carved directly from whole antlers of the appropriate size:
    • Scythes
    • Pickaxes
    • Hoes

Compatibility

Q: Is this compatible with [insert combat or tool overhaul mod]?
A: I have no idea. Support will probably have to be on their side, unless I personally use the mod and find a need for it.

I really like the concept of being able to extend the stone age portion of this game and I would like to thank you for your contributions.

I know I have been able to get my hands on antlers in the past. But I never thought much about it, hence I have forgotten how I got them in the first place.

Would you be so kind and explain how antlers can be acquired as of version 1.22.3 of this game?

Also, do you happen to know if the butchering mod somehow interfere with the ability to acquire antlers from deer when butchered? So far I have not gotten any antlers from butchering bucks, despite them having visible antlers before they fell to my bow.

Thanks in advance!

It's great to see you back on mod devving. What does the antler flute do, same as bone flute?

Yup, exact same, it's just a cosmetic varient :)

I like the idea of this mod a lot and will probably drop it in next time I play, but what I really wanted to compliment is your exceptionally sleek looking modpage?
It's very clean and the colours are soft but readable. Everything is very clear and uncluttered with the drop downs.

If you don't mind, I would like to take some inspiration from it for my own pages?
Not a direct copy, just similar layout and vibe.

this is really cool, thanks for making it!

Wow, keeping this in my back pocket for the knife handles alone, thanks!!

...any chance of making the handle part of the tines compatible with Toolsmith?

That would probably have to be a patch on toolsmith's side, I unfortunately have pretty nasty chronic fatigue and find supporting compat for mods I don't use overwhelming :(
